Job summary

Canterbury League Club in Sydney is seeking an Events Team Leader for a 3-month fixed-term contract to oversee event setup, service delivery and pack-down across its food and beverage operations. You will lead and support event staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Requirements include RSA & RC G Certification, First Aid, experience supervising hospitality staff, and proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel, Tripleseat Event System, and Dayforce rostering or similar booking systems.

Qualifications

• RSA & RCG Certification required.
• First Aid Certification required.
• Experience supervising hospitality staff.
• Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Competent with Tripleseat Event System or similar.
• Competent with standard Restaurant and Function Booking Systems.
• Competent using Dayforce rostering system or similar.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate event setups, service delivery, changeovers and pack-down to ensure functions run smoothly and meet client expectations.
• Lead, support and motivate event staff, allocate duties, provide on-the-job training and maintain high service standards.
• Liaise with clients and event organisers, respond to enquiries and resolve operational issues professionally.
• Review event run sheets, function requirements, room layouts and menus to ensure all operational details are communicated and delivered effectively.
• Oversee food and beverage operations, ensuring service quality, accurate orders and compliance with dietary and allergen requirements.
• Monitor labour, stock usage, wastage and consumables to support cost control and operational efficiency.
• Promote a safe working environment by ensuring food safety, WHS procedures and relevant RSA requirements are followed.
• Maintain accurate records, complete shift handovers and report incidents, equipment issues and operational concerns to management.
• Identify opportunities to improve event delivery, team performance, customer satisfaction and overall operational efficiency.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Events Team Leader to join us for a 3 month Fixed Term contract position to support the successful delivery of events across Canterbury’s Food and Beverage operations.
