Job summary

The Promenade Docklands in Melbourne is seeking an Events Sales Coordinator to support the sales process for weddings and private events. You will participate in site visits, help deliver events on the night, and work closely with our Senior Sales Manager to grow into more sales responsibilities.

Base salary is topped up with commission and sales incentives, with a Tuesday–Saturday schedule and RSA certification required.

Qualifications

• Experience in event, function or venue coordination.
• Excellent communication and client management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Sales Manager across the sales pipeline and tasks.
• Respond to enquiries and convert them into bookings via site visits, quotes and follow-ups.
• Lead private event and wedding site visits as needed.
• Assist in preparing proposals, quotes and contracts.
• Guide clients from booking to event day and ensure a smooth start.
• Be present at the start of selected weddings and events to welcome clients.
• Coordinate with suppliers and operations to keep events on plan.

About the role

Ready to turn your events coordination experience into a sales career? Join our team at The Promenade Docklands and learn directly from our Senior Sales Manager. You’ll support the sales process for private events and weddings, join site visits, and help deliver events on the night, with a clear path to take on more of the sales yourself. Your base salary is topped up with commission and sales incentives.

What you’ll do

• Support the Senior Sales Manager across the sales pipeline and take on tasks as the team needs
• Respond to enquiries, and help turn them into bookings through site visits, quotes and follow-ups
• Join and progressively lead private event and wedding site visits
• Help prepare proposals, quotes and contracts
• Guide clients from booking through to event day
• Be present at the start of selected weddings, ceremonies and events to welcome clients and make sure the occasion gets off to a smooth start
• Coordinate with suppliers and our operations team to keep events running to plan

About you

• Experience in event, function or venue coordination
• A genuine interest in building a career in sales
• A current RSA certificate (essential)
• Wedding experience is highly regarded
• Confident, personable and professional, with strong communication skills
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple clients and timelines at once
• A proactive team player who’s happy to jump in wherever needed
• Available Tuesday to Saturday, including evenings
