Job summary

Sydney Zoo Pty Ltd in Western Sydney is seeking an experienced Event & Sales Manager on a fixed-term basis for about 8–9 months. You will lead the sales, planning and delivery of corporate functions held at the zoo, researching viability, building business cases, and coordinating an annual events calendar within budget.

Collaboration with Guest Experience, Marketing and F&B teams will shape the sales and marketing strategy for Sydney Zoo’s corporate functions, ensuring outstanding visitor

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 year’s relevant experience in an equivalent position which must include end-to-end event management.
• Clear and professional communication skills internally and externally. Excellent written communications skills – you express yourself clearly and concisely.
• Design and styling skills – natural eye for what looks good.
• Work autonomously as well as under direction; get on with the job. Collaborates well with others and is a strong negotiator and influencer.
• Multi-task and work under time pressure.
• Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
• Food and beverage knowledge and understanding of market trends.
• Paid Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Sales, planning, coordination and delivery of corporate functions at Sydney Zoo.
• Research the viability of functions and develop a business case for new function types.
• Manage a yearly event calendar in line with budget.
• Collaborate with Guest Experience and Marketing teams.
• Develop and manage the sales and marketing plan for corporate functions.
• Plan and coordinate all Sydney Zoo corporate functions in consultation with Food & Beverage and other teams.

The Position

This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of an exciting team at Sydney zoo in the role of ourEvent & Sales Manager in a fixed term capacity for approximately 8-9 months ,utilising your skills in an area that you are genuinely passionate about. This role will commence as soon as possible.

The position is responsible for sales, planning, coordination, &delivery of corporate functions held at Sydney Zoo. The position willbe tasked with researching the viability of functions, developing abusiness case for new function types, & the management of a yearlyevent calendar in line with budget. The position oversees the efficientand effective operations of functions including but not limited tocorporate functions. The role has a close and collaborativerelationship with other departments, most notably Guest Experienceand Marketing. The position is responsible for the development &management of the sales & marketing plan. Sales & planning will forma major aspect of this function. In consultation with other marketingand Food & Beverage team members, the position is responsible fordeveloping the sales & marketing strategy as well as planning &coordinating all of Sydney Zoo Corporate functions.

Skills, Knowledge, and Relevant Experience

ESSENTIAL
