Job summary

Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort & Convention Centre is seeking a Kitchen Steward to support our culinary team by maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment. You will work with chefs to ensure mise en place and assist during service, with availability for evening shifts.

This role emphasizes food safety, hygiene and WHS standards, plus teamwork and clear communication in a fast-paced resort setting. A valid driver's licence and flexibility to rotate rosters are required.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards.
• Good time management and ability to multitask.
• Excellent teamwork and clear communication with colleagues.
• Positive, adaptable attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Available to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Previous kitchen experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining cleanliness across all kitchen and F&B areas.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards.
• Following correct food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Supporting basic kitchen preparation and ensuring mise en place is maintained.
• Assisting the broader kitchen team and supporting chefs during service.
• Contributing to efficient kitchen operations in a busy resort environment.
