You want to play a part in making NSW a better place to work, live and travel.

If finding complex technological solutions is your game, we've got the team for you. You're going to help us create seamless operations that result in efficiency for millions of customers.

In this role, you'll:

Lead the coordination of monitoring, triaging, and resolving faults across the European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 and its sub-systems, including onboard, trackside, telecommunication, and traffic management system.

You’ll work closely with engineering teams across all disciplines, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure safety, reliability, and operational performance in a 24/7 environment.

You’ll coordinate fault diagnosis and incident response, outages, root cause analysis, and provide clear performance reporting. Along the way, you’ll build expertise through extensive training and hands‑on involvement in system integration and operational readiness activities. This is your opportunity to drive collaboration across disciplines while supporting the rollout of world‑class rail technology as part of Sydney Trains’ Digital Systems Program.

This is a temporary, fixed‑term opportunity for up to 24 months, working within a 24/7 operational environment. While the role will eventually operate on a rotating roster to support continuous 24/7 operations, the first six months will be dedicated to comprehensive training and onboarding. During this initial period, you’ll work standard hours as you build the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in this critical role.

This role is based in Alexandria and requires an on‑site work presence.

You’re someone who thrives in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment and brings a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset. You have strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build trust and work effectively across teams. You’re highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and committed to delivering outcomes with precision.

You bring curiosity and a desire to learn, embracing new technologies and complex systems. You can work independently, take initiative, and maintain resilience in a fast‑paced operational setting. You demonstrate collaboration, adaptability, and a focus on continuous improvement.
