The Estimator & Service Technician combines air conditioning knowledge with estimating, customer relationships and consultative sales. The role is primarily focused on meeting customers, understanding their needs, preparing accurate and profitable quotations, following up opportunities and helping customers choose the right solution. Approximately 40% of the role will involve servicing and field work, although the mix may vary according to business needs. The role will also assist field technicians with customer conversations and sales opportunities and, where appropriate, help develop their confidence and sales skills.

Key responsibilities

Attend site inspections and assess customer requirements.

Build rapport, understand customer needs and clearly explain suitable options.

Prepare accurate quotations, scopes, equipment selections and labour estimates.

Ensure quotations meet company pricing and gross profit requirements.

Aim to complete quotations within 24 hours of receiving the required information.

Proactively follow up quotes and confidently ask for the sale in a professional, consultative manner.

Identify genuine upgrade and additional-work opportunities.

Maintain accurate customer, job and quotation records.

Undertake air conditioning servicing, diagnostics and maintenance as required.

Deliver work to company workmanship, customer service and safety standards.
