Job summary

Level Electrical & Air Maitland is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician to join our Maitland team. You will install, service and repair HVAC systems across residential, commercial and industrial sites, delivering high-quality workmanship.

This full-time role offers above-award wages and a four-day working week, with a supportive team and opportunities to mentor apprentices. A dual trade is preferred but not essential, and candidates must hold relevant licences and

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• A current Refrigerant Handling Licence.
• A current Australian driver's licence.
• Strong installation, servicing and fault-finding skills.
• A sound understanding of refrigeration, electrical and safety standards.
• Clear communication skills and a professional approach with customers.
• The ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
• Pride in delivering reliable, high-quality workmanship.
• Confidence using digital job-management tools, or the willingness to learn.
• A current Police Check and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain them.
• A dual air conditioning and electrical trade qualification will be highly regarded, but it isn't essential.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair air conditioning and heat pump systems.
• Work across residential, commercial and industrial sites.
• Diagnose HVAC faults using gauges, thermometers and other diagnostic tools.
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical and refrigeration schematics.
• Complete work safely, neatly and in line with Australian standards.
• Explain faults, recommended solutions and service costs clearly to customers.
• Identify out-of-scope work requiring a variation or quotation.
• Collaborate with other technicians and trades on project installations.
• Maintain accurate job records, timesheets and photo documentation using field-based software.
• Organise job-specific materials through preferred suppliers.
• Support, coach and supervise air conditioning apprentices.
• Represent the business professionally through workmanship, communication and site conduct.
