Qualifications

• Carpentry background is advantageous but not required.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates across residential construction projects, ensuring all materials, labour and associated costs are accounted for.

Working closely with internal teams and key stakeholders, you will play an important role in supporting the estimating and construction process.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing accurate cost estimates for residential construction projects.
• Reviewing and interpreting architectural plans, technical drawings and specifications.
• Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to obtain pricing and project information.
• Preparing and administering contract variations.
• Ensuring estimates align with relevant building codes, regulations and construction requirements.
• Maintaining accurate estimating documentation and project cost information.
• Working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout the estimating process.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in residential construction estimating.
• A sound understanding of residential building methods, materials and construction processes.
• Experience using Databuild and Microsoft Office.
• The ability to confidently interpret construction plans, drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• A trade background, ideally in carpentry, would be highly regarded but is not essential.
