Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment – Gold Coast QLD is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our established residential builder partner. You will independently prepare BOQs, take-offs and manage procurement, ensuring budgets align with client allowances.

In this role you will source subcontractors, negotiate pricing, and maintain accurate cost data across villa projects. You will work autonomously with a strong attention to detail and provide guidance to fellow estimators as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential construction estimating, ideally within a volume building or villa construction environment.
• Proven ability to independently prepare complete BOQs and accurate material take-offs.
• Experience managing material orders, supplier pricing, variations, extras and over-orders.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to maintain budgets and control costs.
• Confidence negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Experience using Databuild, Build Exact or similar estimating software, with the ability to learn new systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• Experience mentoring or supporting other estimators will be highly regarded.
