Job summary

Linktal Recruitment is seeking an experienced Estimator to join a well-established commercial design and fit-out business in Australia. This role focuses on producing accurate cost plans, reviewing drawings, and sourcing cost-effective subcontractor and supplier quotes.

You will work closely with estimating, design, sales and project delivery teams to ensure estimates align with scope, regulations and timelines, while managing multiple cost plans in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar estimating role within commercial construction or fit-out.
• Strong working knowledge of estimating software such as CostX or similar.
• Solid understanding of construction drawings, specifications, building codes and relevant Australian Standards.
• Confident communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple cost plans and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates covering labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs.
• Review construction drawings and specifications, and perform detailed quantity take-offs using CostX or similar software.
• Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Assess project risks, cost variations and market conditions when developing estimates and budgets.
• Collaborate with sales, project managers, designers and subcontractors to ensure estimates align with project scope, compliance requirements and delivery timelines.
