Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is seeking an Estimator to join a Perth-based commercial fitout and refurbishment contractor. You will work with the pre-construction team, pricing a diverse range of projects and developing your skills within a supportive culture.

In this role, you will prepare detailed cost plans, assess tender documentation, manage subcontractor pricing, and contribute to high-quality submissions. A proactive, career-focused mindset is essential.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation and undertake initial estimating assessments.
• Prepare detailed trade breakdowns and cost plans for internal review.
• Identify suitable subcontractors and ensure project scope is understood.
• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities and cost plans.
• Review subcontractor quotations for competitive pricing.
• Liaise with subcontractors throughout the tender process.
• Collaborate with pre-construction to prepare high-quality tender submissions.
• Assist with tender reviews and ensure timely, accurate submissions.
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

• Experience estimating commercial construction, fitout or refurbishment projects.
• Exposure to projects valued between $1m and $20m.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation and undertake initial estimating assessments.
• Prepare detailed trade breakdowns and analyse project documentation.
• Identify suitable subcontractors and ensure they have a clear understanding of the project scope, specifications and programme.
• Prepare detailed, rated and coded Bills of Quantities and cost plans for internal review.
• Review, compare and analyse subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Liaise with subcontractors throughout the tender process to clarify scope and obtain competitive pricing.
• Work collaboratively with the pre-construction team to prepare high-quality tender submissions.
• Assist with tender reviews and ensure all submissions are accurate, commercially sound and delivered within required timeframes.
• Build strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
