Job summary

NES Fircroft in Australia seeks an Estimating Manager to lead a sizeable estimating team, supporting large-scale projects across SMP, construction and manufacturing. The role balances strategic oversight with hands-on estimating expertise and mentorship to build capability for growth.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive estimating experience, strong leadership, and excellent Excel/analytical skills to drive high-value tenders and process improvements across multiple sectors.

Qualifications

• Extensive estimating experience within SMP, construction, engineering, fabrication, manufacturing or related industries.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing large estimating teams.
• The ability to remain technically involved while leading people and driving performance.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating activities across major construction and SMP projects.
• Review, prepare and validate detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Manage and mentor a team of estimators and estimating leaders.
• Build capability within the estimating function and support future growth.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimisation and emerging technologies.
• Work closely with operational, commercial and project stakeholders across the business.
• Support the successful delivery of high-value tenders across multiple industry sectors.
