Job summary

NES Fircroft in Perth (Hazelmere region) seeks a Lead Estimator for the Mobile Equipment Maintenance sector to own the estimating function and drive accurate, competitive project quotes.

The role involves close collaboration with workshop leadership, reviewing scopes, and preparing cost estimates for maintenance and rebuilds. Flexible hours and steady work flow support long-term career growth.

Qualifications

• Estimating experience within Mobile Equipment Maintenance.
• Experience supporting planning & scheduling activities.
• Experience using CMMS systems and Microsoft programs.
• Familiar with mining machinery from CAT, Hitachi, Liebherr or similar.
• Trade background with hands-on mechanical experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review scope of works with Workshop management and identify labour, materials and equipment.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for maintenance and rebuilds on large mobile plant.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost assessments for project estimates.
• Review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing to maximise value.
• Contribute to tender documentation and ensure compliance with deadlines.
• Assist with procurement, variations and ongoing budget monitoring.
• Travel to project sites and regional facilities as required.

Their mobile equipment maintenance function is supported with state-of-the-art workshop facilities in the Pilbara, Goldfields and Perth.

We are looking for someone who has the following background:

• Hold Estimating experience within the specialisation of Mobile Equipment Maintenance.
• Previous experience in supporting Planning & Scheduling activities.
• Experience using CMMS systems and Microsoft programs.
• Familiar with mining machinery and equipment manufactured by CAT, Hitachi, Liebherr or similar.
• Coming from a Trade background and holding previous hand-on mechanical experience is certainly beneficial.

The role will be based in Perth in the Hazelmere region and see you working very closely with the Workshop leadership teams. Usual working hours are 7am – 3pm however this can be negotiated.

Some of your key duties will include:

• Work with Workshop management in reviewing scope of works and then identifying required labour, materials, equipment to complete the projects
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for maintenance & rebuild works on large mobile plant.

• Preparing detailed quantity take-offs and cost assessments to produce accurate and competitive project estimates.
• Reviewing supplier and subcontractor proposals, analysing pricing and commercial terms to identify cost-effective solutions and maximise value.
• Contributing to the preparation and submission of tender documentation, ensuring compliance with project requirements and submission deadlines.
• Assisting with the administration of project variations, procurement activities, purchase orders, and ongoing budget monitoring.
• Travelling to project sites and regional facilities when required to support project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
