Job summary

W3Global is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead the estimating function on complex projects across NSW and Queensland. You will set priorities, allocate work across the estimating team, and ensure submissions are accurate and on time.

You will oversee labour and material pricing, take-offs, and supplier quotations, while reviewing project risks and margins and handing over awarded projects to delivery teams. Strong leadership and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years' estimating experience, ideally within commercial construction, infrastructure or building services.
• Experience leading or managing an estimating team.
• Strong knowledge of project pricing and estimating using Excel.

Job description

Our client is an established electrical and communications contractor delivering complex projects across NSW and Queensland. They are looking for an experienced Estimating Manager who understands client requirements and takes pride in producing accurate, competitive tenders.

With around 15 bids underway at any one time, you'll lead the estimating function by setting priorities, allocating work across the estimating team and keeping submissions on track. Working closely with the operations team, you'll oversee labour and material pricing, take-offs and supplier quotations, review project risk and margins, and ensure awarded projects are handed over clearly to the delivery team.

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager, you'll bring 8-10 years' estimating experience, ideally within commercial construction, infrastructure, electrical or communications. You'll also have demonstrated experience leading and developing an estimating team.

About You

• 8-10 years' experience in estimating, ideally within commercial construction, infrastructure or building services.
• Previous experience leading or managing an estimating team.
• Strong knowledge of project pricing and estimating using Excel.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and/or other quantity take-off software.
• Strong understanding of labour, material and subcontractor pricing.
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Electrical and communications experience is highly regarded, but experience across other building services or infrastructure disciplines will also be considered.
• Transport infrastructure experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
