Job summary

Peabody is seeking experienced ERZ Controllers to join Centurion Mine, located about 160 kilometres west of Mackay. You will lead underground crews, ensure safe and efficient execution of mining activities and maintain compliance with statutory requirements and site standards.

This frontline leadership role focuses on safety culture, operational performance and coaching crews across Outbye, Development and Longwall, with a 7/7 roster and strong opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Underground coal mining supervisory experience is required.
• Candidates must hold Deputy's or Third Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
• Strong safety/risk management focus and safety leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform statutory and compliance inspections in accordance with legislation and site SHMS.
• Ensure production processes and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate and oversee maintenance activities per site requirements.
• Facilitate crew meetings, pre-starts and shift communication sessions.
• Drive safe achievement of production targets and operational objectives.
• Promote hazard identification, risk management and continuous improvement.
• Provide leadership and coaching to underground crews.
• Maintain compliance with site procedures and safety standards.

Peabody is seeking experienced ERZ Controllers to join our team at Centurion Mine, located approximately 160 kilometres west of Mackay. Multiple opportunities are available across Outbye, Development and Longwall.

In this critical frontline leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of mining activities while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and site standards. You will lead crews underground, drive operational performance and play a key role in fostering a high-performing safety culture across one of Australia's newest longwall operations.

Your Impact

About You

You are an experienced underground coal mining professional with strong leadership capability and a genuine commitment to safety, operational discipline and team performance.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Deputy's Certificate of Competency or Third Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
• Underground coal mining supervisory experience.
• S1, S2, S3 and Risk Management and Investigation competencies.
• Strong safety and risk management focus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.
• Strong understanding of statutory obligations and underground mining legislation.
• Proven ability to achieve operational targets while maintaining a safety-first mindset.
• Commitment to Safety, Integrity, Operational Excellence and Courageous Leadership.
