Job summary

Coates Tamworth is seeking a mechanically minded Trades Assistant to support our workshop team. You will assist with cleaning, inspection and minor repairs of equipment and help mechanics focus on priority tasks.

This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday roster, on-site work and a benefits package including training, career progression and staff discounts. Join a team dedicated to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Must have current driver’s license; forklift high risk license is advantageous.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, time management and organisational skills.
• Be physically fit and aware of safety standards.
• Mechanical equipment knowledge is desirable.
• Familiarisation with Take 5’s and JSEA’s.

Responsibilities

• Clean and inspect equipment, perform minor repairs and use test instruments.
• Support workshop mechanics/electricians to enable focus on repairs.
• Check inbound/outbound equipment in the yard, including spotting functionality.
• Keep workshop, yard and service area clean, tidy and safe.

Here’s how you'll be a part of our team

• Monday to Friday roster, 7am start

Responsibilities

As a Coates Trades Assistant (Internally known as Equipment Maintenance Controllers ) at our Tamworth branch, you will be responsible for:

• Cleaning and inspection tasks of equipment including some minor repairs and adjustments and the use of test instruments.
• Supporting role to the workshop mechanics/electricians to enable them to focus on equipment repairs and more complex tasks.
• Check and control equipment (inbound and outbound) as it comes in and out of the yard inclusive of the spotting function.
• Assist in keeping workshop, yard and service area clean, tidy and safe.
