Job summary

Claro Disability Services is seeking compassionate carers to support clients with complex needs across mobility, daily tasks, and social activities. You’ll tailor supports to goals, work closely with families and health professionals, and help maintain independence in daily life.

Shifts are flexible to fit your day, and you will be part of a supportive team that values care, integrity, and client wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered planning and routines with client and family input.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and assistive devices as per plan.
• Monitor client medical needs and liaise with care team as conditions change.
• Support social participation and community access aligned with client interests.
• Promote autonomy, respect consent, and encourage independence where possible.
• Respect diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures.

What you’ll do (*tailored to each client as required*)

• Person-centered planning: Chat with the client (and family/advocates), get the know them and understanding of goals and routines.
• Complex physical care: Help with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and devices (wheelchairs, aids, etc.) as outlined in the plan
• Medical supports: Watch for changes, follow med/clinical plans, and liaise with the care team if things shift.
• Social time and participation: Bring meaning, fun, and community access aligned with interests.
• Autonomy and advocacy: Support decision-making, respect consent, boost independence where possible.
• Cultural humility: Respect backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of being

Who we’re looking for

• Interest or experience in complex care, disability, and health nuances.
• Great communicator: listens well, reads cues, and adapts to different styles.
• Reliable and professional, with good notetaking and teamwork.

• Optional but nice: Manual handling, epilepsy management, or disability-support training.
