Job summary

Barwon Health is seeking an Environmental Services Operations Coordinator (Grade 3) at The McKellar Centre in Geelong. The role leads Floor Coordinators and Team Leaders to ensure efficient daily operations, rostering, and payroll support within Environmental Services, delivering cleaning, housekeeping and waste management to aged care standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in contemporary healthcare cleaning practices.
• Prior management experience and ability to lead, manage and motivate a large team in healthcare environmental services or facilities management for 2+ years.
• Excellent understanding of rostering, productivity and budgeting with strong financial acumen.

About the role

The Enviornmental Services Operations Coordinator- The McKellar Centre, leads and supports our team of Floor Coordinators and Team Leader’s to undertake their roles and responsibilities effectively and efficiently. This leadership role ensures that Environmental Services are safe, supported and comply with appropriate legislation. This role oversees the daily staff allocation, work scheduling and operations within Environmental Services; to enable the delivery of cleaning, housekeeping, and waste management to a standard commensurate with applicable Aged Care Standards and Safety and Quality in Health Care Standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that the daily operational activities are undertaken regarding clinical, project cleans, and special activities i.e. capital and building works are assisted.
• Ensure that daily staff resources are allocated in an effective manner via the Floor Coordinator; in line with service, budget, and EBA requirements; to achieve optimal outcomes for service delivery
• Proactively engage with staff to ensure appropriate conduct, behaviours, and communication occurs at all time
• Undertake timely conflict resolution and performance management in consultation with Workforce Partner as required.
• Use appropriate electronic systems to update master rosters and support payroll submission in accordance with EBA requirements and Barwon Health policies & procedures, within approved operational FTE

What we’re looking for

• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in contemporary healthcare cleaning practices
• Prior management experience and ability to lead, manage and motivate a large team in either a Healthcare Environmental Services role, or facilities management role and preferable in a customer focussed industry for more than 2 years
• Excellent understanding of rostering, productivity and budgeting, with strong financial acumen
