Job summary

Barwon Health in Geelong is seeking an After-Hours Nursing Coordinator to oversee site management during out-of-hours periods at the McKellar Centre. The role includes leadership, clinical decision-making and coordination of facilities, services and resources.

The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and a tertiary nursing qualification, plus an NDIS Worker Screening Check. The position offers a permanent part-time arrangement (48 hours per fortnight) with generous leave and salary

About the role

The After-Hours Nursing Coordinator is the overarching delegated site manager at the McKellar Centre in the out of business hours period. They are responsible for the safe, effective and efficient management of all facilities, services and resources Additionally they provide leadership phone support for Alan David Lodge and the After-Hours Palliative Care team.

Keyresponsibilities

• Clinical & Patient/Resident Care Management – Clinical decision-making, bed allocation, admissions and management of complex patient/resident matters.
• People & Resource Management – Human resource management, workforce allocation, delegation, material resources, buildings and information systems.
• Risk, Safety & Incident Management – OH&S, emergency response, incident management/debriefing, serious injuries, security and performance issues.
• Governance, Compliance & Reporting – SIRS and incident reporting, serious complaints, regulatory compliance, escalation and liaison with external agencies.

What we’re looking for

• Currently Registered as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Nursing
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
