Job summary

Australian Environmental Auditors Pty Ltd (AEA) is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our landfill auditing team. The role focuses on technical auditing, data analysis, and site inspections, with most work in Victoria and Melbourne-based preferred, but open to other Australian locations.

This is a full-time role offering hybrid and flexible work arrangements. We provide structured training, mentoring, and exposure to top-tier industry experts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Earth Science, Civil/Environmental Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 3 years professional experience in environmental consultancy, industry or regulatory body.
• Ability to read, interpret and extract insights from environmental reports and site investigations.
• Proficiency with Excel for data manipulation and Word for professional report formatting.
• Excellent written English with clear, regulatory-grade technical communication.
• Strong time-management, ability to juggle priorities, and manage project budgets.

Responsibilities

• Technical auditing & analysis: review reports, verify data, draft technical summaries and auditor correspondence.
• Site inspections (minor/occasional): collect data, photographs, and maintain objective records.
• Project coordination: act as central point of contact for internal teams, clients and consultants.
• Commercial support & growth: assist in tenders, scoping projects, and client relationships.
• Data integrity: manage complex environmental data and ensure documentation meets BMS standards.
