Job summary

Environmental Services Firm in Melbourne seeks an Environmental Scientist/Engineer to support a diverse range of projects. The role is primarily home-office based with periodic fieldwork across regional Australia, including groundwater, soil, and water sampling.

You will analyze and present data, conduct literature and regulatory reviews, and contribute to reports and plans. Travel may be required; VIC-focused regulatory knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Masters degree in soil science, hydrogeology, geology, environmental science, environmental engineering or other relevant degree.
• Up to 3 years of experience in a relevant environmental role, including groundwater and soil sampling.
• Developing understanding of environmental and resource regulations (VIC preferred).
• Advanced Excel (Power BI and DBMS experience preferred).
• Australian work rights (citizenship or valid visa) required.

Responsibilities

• Management, analysis and presentation of environmental investigation, monitoring and remediation data.
• Desktop data gathering and compilation.
• Background reviews of technical guidance, regulations and case studies.
• Preparation of reports, including monitoring reports, site assessments, work plans, and annual returns.
• Field inspection and monitoring programs for groundwater, surface water, and soil sampling.
• Supervision of subcontractors in the field.
• Project and task management: scope, schedule, budgets.
