Veolia ANZ is seeking an Environmental Officer to join our team at our Hampton Park site in Melbourne. The role focuses on assisting in delivering environmental objectives through monitoring, compliance, and practical solutions across three landfills.

You will drive best practice monitoring and ensure consistent outcomes across sites. Key responsibilities include managing licence conditions, ongoing environmental monitoring, incident response, and reporting to authorities.

Qualificações

• Experience in a similar role with exposure to environmental monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations, particularly in Australia.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure site management knowledge of licence and approval conditions and responsibilities is well understood through incident reporting and training.
• Manage ongoing environmental monitoring (collection, analysis and reporting) in line with legislative requirements.
• Identify, investigate and mitigate environmental and compliance events across operations.
• Manage site environmental management plans to ensure compliance.
• Prepare and submit reports and correspondence required by local, state and federal agencies to meet legislative requirements.
• Obtain and deliver environmental approvals and amendments in line with legislative requirements.
• Respond to environmental incidents and manage regulator interactions.

Veolia ANZ is seeking an Environmental Officer to join our team based at ou r Hampton Park site in Melbourne (3976) on a full-time permanent basis. In this role you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of Veolia business and environmental objectives through environmental monitoring and compliance across three landfills. You will work as an active member to provide environmental knowledge, support and solutions. This includes taking preventative actions that ensure compliance with environmental obligations and drive best practice environmental monitoring and compliance outcomes and consistency across operational sites.

What you'll be responsible for

Ensure site management knowledge of licence and approval conditions and responsibilities is well understood through incident reporting, delivery of environmental training and support to ongoing change initiatives

Manage ongoing environmental monitoring (collection, analysis and reporting) in accordance with legislative responsibilities

Identification, investigation and mitigation of environmental and compliance events across operations

Manage site environmental management plans to ensure compliance

Prepare and submit reports and correspondence required by local, state and federal agencies to meet legislative requirements.

Obtain and deliver environmental approvals and amendments in line with legislative requirements

Respond to environmental incidents and manage the corresponding regulator interactions

What you'll need to be successful

Experience in a similar role with exposure to environmental monitoring

Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations particularly the Environment Protection Act 2017

Proven ability to analyse reports and data
