McConnell Dowell - Creative Construction is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental management for a major Yan Yean project. This maternity-leave cover role focuses on embedding strong environmental standards across the site and working with project leaders and crews.

You will drive compliance, audits and training, influence sustainable practices, and ensure timely reporting on environmental performance.

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification in Environmental Science or related field.

  • Solid understanding of ISO 14001 and risk management principles.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including training environments.

We’re seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join our project team at Yan Yean, supporting one of Victoria’s key infrastructure programs. This role is offered as a 12‑month maternity leave contract with a healthy pipeline of future work offering genuine long‑term potential for high performers.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead all environmental management activities across the project, ensuring compliance, driving proactive environmental performance, and building strong relationships with project leaders and work crews.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide practical, expert advice on environmental requirements, legislation and standards
  • Maintain and improve the Project Environmental Management System
  • Lead audits, inspections and reporting, ensuring timely close‑out of actions
  • Influence and drive proactive environmental culture across site teams and subcontractors
