Job summary

McConnell Dowell - Creative Construction is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental management for a major Yan Yean project. This maternity-leave cover role focuses on embedding strong environmental standards across the site and working with project leaders and crews.

You will drive compliance, audits and training, influence sustainable practices, and ensure timely reporting on environmental performance.

Qualifications

Professional qualification in Environmental Science or related field.
Strong hands-on experience managing environmental programs on construction sites.
Experience investigating and reporting environmental incidents.
Solid understanding of ISO 14001 and risk management principles.
Clear written and verbal communication, including training environments.
Ability to plan, prioritise and deliver outcomes in a dynamic project environment.

Responsibilities

Provide practical, expert advice on environmental requirements, legislation and standards.
Maintain and improve the Project Environmental Management System.
Lead audits, inspections and reporting with timely action closure.
Influence environmental culture across site teams and subcontractors.
Coordinate environmental training, awareness programs and capability uplift.
Manage incident investigations and monthly environmental reporting.
