Job summary

Chandler Macleod in Melbourne's northern suburbs is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a busy Capital Works team in Greensborough, VIC, delivering civil and building infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Coordinator Capital Works, you will manage projects from inception through to completion, coordinate with contractors and consultants, and ensure delivery on time, within budget and to quality standards while complying with legislation.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering civil/building projects.
• Strong contract administration and contractor management.
• Knowledge of construction legislation, OH&S and environmental compliance.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules and stakeholder expectations.
• Ability to review drawings and construction documentation.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Construction Industry White Card.
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage project delivery from planning through to handover.
• Coordinate procurement and contractor engagement activities.
• Review plans, specifications and consultant documentation.
• Supervise contractors and monitor project performance.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with contracts, specifications and legislative requirements.
• Assess and monitor SWMS, ITPs and site compliance documentation.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts and expenditure.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings and provide project updates.
• Administer contractor claims, variations and payment certifications.
• Maintain accurate project records, reports and site documentation.

6-Month Contract | Potential Extension

Seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a busy Capital Works team delivering a diverse portfolio of civil and building infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction or civil engineering professional to contribute to projects that enhance local community infrastructure while working within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Reporting to the Coordinator Capital Works, you will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards. Working closely with contractors, consultants, service authorities and internal stakeholders, you will oversee the successful delivery of civil and building projects while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and council requirements.

About You

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience delivering civil and/or building construction projects.
• Strong contract administration and contractor management experience.
• Sound knowledge of construction legislation, Occupational Health and Safety requirements, and environmental compliance.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules and stakeholder expectations.
• The ability to review technical drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Construction Industry White Card.
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence.

This position would suit a proactive and organised Project Engineer who enjoys managing multiple projects and building strong relationships with contractors, consultants and key stakeholders.
