Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in chemistry, laboratory science or a related discipline.
• Experience in sampling, sample preservation, analytical testing and laboratory equipment operation.
• Knowledge of quality assurance systems and water or wastewater treatment operations is desirable.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Access, Google Suite and laboratory or asset management systems.
• A commitment to safety, sustainability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Conducting sampling, laboratory testing and analysis across the Woodlawn Leachate Treatment and Reverse Osmosis Plants.
• Preparing reagents, standards and sample containers, while ensuring correct storage and preservation.
• Maintaining accurate records, databases and reports, and promptly communicating water-quality exceedances.
• Supporting quality systems, audits, procedures and process optimisation.
• Coordinating external laboratory testing, stock control and procurement.
• Promoting safe, compliant and environmentally responsible laboratory practices.
• Collaborating with operations teams, mentoring staff and participating in the on-call roster.
