Alignerr Corp. seeks Environmental Engineering — AI Data Trainer to help shape AI models with domain expertise in environmental challenges. The role is fully remote and freelance, offering 10–40 hours per week and an hourly contracting model.

You’ll design advanced environmental problems, author gold-standard solutions, and audit AI outputs for regulatory compliance and technical accuracy. Strong writing skills are essential, with no prior AI experience required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding a Master’s or PhD in Environmental/Civil Engineering (environmental focus).
• Strong foundation in aquatic chemistry, wastewater design, air quality engineering, or hazardous waste remediation.
• Excellent written communication of complex technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design complex problems spanning contaminant transport, mass balance, hydrology, and LCA.
• Author ground-truth solutions with step-by-step technical calculations and models.
• Audit AI outputs for technical accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance (EPA, ISO 14001).
• Refine AI reasoning by identifying and correcting errors in technical logic and calculations.
• Work independently and asynchronously on your schedule.

We're looking for environmental engineering professionals to help train and improve cutting-edge AI models. Your domain expertise will directly shape how AI understands and reasons through complex environmental challenges — from contaminant transport to regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

• Design Complex Problems — Develop advanced environmental engineering challenges spanning contaminant transport, mass balance in treatment systems, hydrology, and Life Cycle Assessments (LCA)
• Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions — including chemical dosage calculations, hydraulic flow models, and pollutant dispersion simulations — that serve as gold-standard reference responses
• Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated remediation plans, environmental impact statements, and mathematical reasoning for technical accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance (EPA, ISO 14001, and others)
• Refine AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors such as incorrect stoichiometry in biological processes or overlooked secondary environmental impacts, then provide structured feedback to improve how the model thinks
• Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Who You Are

• Pursuing or holding a Master's or PhD in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering (environmental focus), or a closely related field
• Strong foundational knowledge in one or more of: aquatic chemistry, wastewater process design, air quality engineering, or hazardous waste remediation
• Skilled at communicating complex technical concepts clearly and precisely in writing
• Detail-oriented — you catch unit conversion errors (mg/L vs. ppm), flawed chemical equations, and gaps in regulatory logic
• No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

• Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or technical review workflows
• Familiarity with environmental modeling software (e.g., AERMOD, SWMM, EPANET)
• Background in EHS compliance or environmental impact assessment
