Alignerr is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to train AI by designing advanced engineering challenges and benchmarks. You will stress-test AI on fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and structural mechanics, crafting rigorous solutions and evaluating AI outputs for accuracy and safety.

You will work remotely with flexible hours, applying deep domain knowledge in mechanics and CAD to push AI capabilities, with no required prior AI experience and opportunities for ongoing contracts.

Formación

• Advanced degree (Master's pursuing or completed, or PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Strong domain knowledge in solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes.
• Analytical communicator who can translate complex physical phenomena into clear explanations.
• Detail-oriented and rigorous in checking derivations and constraints.
• No prior AI experience required; engineering expertise matters.

Responsabilidades

• Design complex engineering problems across domains like FEA, heat transfer, kinematics, and material science to stress-test AI.
• Author ground-truth solutions with rigorous, step-by-step technical explanations and benchmarks.
• Audit AI reasoning for technical accuracy, safety, and standards compliance (e.g., ASME, ISO).
• Refine AI thinking by documenting and correcting logical errors to improve model performance.

What You'll Do

• Design Complex Engineering Problems — Craft advanced, multi-step challenges across domains like FEA (Finite Element Analysis), heat transfer, kinematics, material science, and mechatronics to push AI to its limits.
• Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning — clear, accurate, and built to engineering standards.
• Audit AI Reasoning — Evaluate AI-generated outputs including CAD logic, thermodynamic derivations, and material specifications for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with standards such as ASME and ISO.
• Refine AI Thinking — Identify and document logical errors in AI reasoning — from incorrect force distributions to energy conservation violations — and provide structured feedback that directly improves model performance.

Who You Are

• Advanced degree (Master's pursuing or completed, or PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field
• Strong domain knowledge in one or more of: solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes
• Analytical communicator — able to translate complex physical phenomena into clear, precise written explanations
• Detail-oriented — rigorous when checking mathematical derivations, unit conversions, and physical system constraints
• No prior AI experience required — your engineering expertise is what matters

Nice to Have

• Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or technical review workflows
• Familiarity with engineering software such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, or ANSYS
• Background in research, academia, or technical writing
