Job summary

AusNet is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to support planning and delivery across the WRL corridor, driving environmental performance and regulatory compliance with contractors.

You will develop and implement strategies, review ecological reports, and provide expert advice to project teams, regulators and stakeholders, with emphasis on biodiversity and sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in environmental advisor roles on large infrastructure projects
• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or related field
• Knowledge of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation desirable

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical advice on environmental impacts and management strategies
• Review design changes, surveys, approvals and compliance obligations
• Attend meetings with auditors and regulate environmental performance requirements
• Inspect and audit contractors; coordinate surveys and due diligence
• Prepare environmental content for regulators, councils and stakeholders
• Develop strategies to avoid impacts with focus on biodiversity
