Job summary

CPB Contractors, part of the CIMIC Group, is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join the HumeLink West Project. This FIFO 14/7 roster will support a landmark renewable energy transmission project linking generators to communities in New South Wales.

Reporting to the Environmental Manager, you will provide practical environmental advice to site teams, ensure compliance with approvals and legislation, and drive sustainable outcomes across all construction activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, or related field.
• 3–5 years' environmental experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy, or major projects.
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation, approvals, and compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting environmental inspections and audits on active construction sites.
• Knowledge of erosion and sediment controls and environmental risk management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence; Construction White Card.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and maintenance of the Project Environmental Management Plan (PEMP).
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring activities.
• Provide environmental advice to project engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Assist with environmental incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Monitor environmental performance across construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental approvals, permits, licences, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate environmental monitoring programs including: Water quality, Dust and air quality, Noise and vibration, Erosion and sediment controls, Flora and fauna management, Waste management.
• Facilitate environmental inductions and awareness training.
• Build strong working relationships with project stakeholders, subcontractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Identify opportunities for environmental improvement and innovation.
