Ampstek is seeking an experienced Environment & Release Manager to manage non-production and production environments for IT platforms in the Australian energy sector. You will collaborate with development, QA, infrastructure, project, and release teams to ensure readiness and successful releases across concurrent projects.

  • Strong experience in Environment Management / Environment Coordination.
  • Experience with NEM / Australian energy market environments.
  • Strong Non-Production Environment Management experience.
  • Proven Release Management and Deployment Coordination experience.
  • Experience coordinating Production and Non-Production environments.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL Change Management processes.
  • Experience with change requests, release scheduling, deployment coordination, and go/no-go activities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Experience working with Development, QA, Infrastructure, and Project teams.
  • Experience maintaining release calendars, runbooks, configuration records, and environment documentation.
  • Strong reporting, risk tracking, and issue management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate non-production environments supporting NEM Wholesale Dispatch IT platforms.
  • Ensure timely environment availability and readiness across multiple concurrent projects and testing activities.
  • Coordinate Non-Production and Production environments for release activities, aligning environment readiness with release calendars and deployment schedules.
  • Coordinate resolution of environment issues across development, QA, infrastructure, and other technical teams to minimise testing and release delays.
  • Track environment health, availability, dependencies, and release risks.
  • Support release management activities including change requests, deployment scheduling, release planning, and go/no-go coordination.
  • Ensure releases and environment changes follow ITIL-aligned change management processes.
  • Coordinate with project managers, developers, testers, infrastructure teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate environment and release documentation, including runbooks, environment calendars, configuration records, and deployment documentation.
  • Maintain release schedules and provide regular status reporting through project meetings and stand-ups.
  • Identify environment conflicts, dependencies, risks, and potential impacts to project timelines.
  • Support post-release activities, issue resolution, and lessons-learned processes.
  • Ensure environment and release information remains accurate and audit-ready within Confluence.

Role Overview
