Job summary

Redland City Council is seeking an Assistant Treatment Plant Operator to join our wastewater team. This entry-level role provides hands-on operation and monitoring across multiple sites, with comprehensive on-the-job training and a pathway to a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (Wastewater).

You will learn alongside experienced operators, gain practical skills, and build a long-term career in a vital service that protects public health and the environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation and monitoring of wastewater treatment across sites.
• Support with routine inspections, plant checks and maintenance.
• Collect samples, perform basic lab tests, monitor processes.
• Identify and report operational issues and safety concerns.
• Work with Council staff and contractors to keep operations safe and efficient.
• Assist with housekeeping and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
