Job summary

Aspen Medical is seeking a part-time Payroll Officer to join our Canberra Finance team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the timely and accurate processing of payroll for employees and contractors, while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and supporting Aspen Medical’s commitment to ethical practices and B Corp principles.

You will assist with fortnightly payroll processing, data entry, leave applications, and maintaining employee records,

Qualifications

• Basic payroll knowledge and a willingness to develop payroll expertise.
• Ability to interpret and apply awards, enterprise agreements, and contracts.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, accuracy with figures, and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with fortnightly payroll processing, including data entry, leave applications, and maintaining employee payroll records.
• Processing and reconcile payday superannuation contributions.
• Support year-end reconciliations processes and preparation of reports.
• Work closely with Culture and Performance team to ensure payroll actions align with contracts, awards, and enterprise agreements.
• Assist in maintaining payroll systems and reports, while supporting process improvements.
• Build positive relationships with employees, contractors, and stakeholders, and support audits to ensure compliance.
