Operating predominantly in federal government, the business delivers testing and evaluation, project delivery, technical services and cybersecurity capability.

The Opportunity

Join an award-winning organisation, where you will be brought in to take ownership of a business-critical function and use your expertise to bring best practice, in a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity leave cover).

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Play a part in helping the business improve and document its finance and payroll processes
  • Work in a complex payroll environment with a mix of full-time, PAYG and subcontractor employees on a fortnightly and monthly schedule
  • Be part of an active social team, with the organisation putting on regular team and family-friendly events which have included family movie nights and Christmas celebrations
  • Enjoy newly renovated offices close to shops and public transport

This opportunity could be a fulltime or part-time (4 days / week) position.

The Role

Day to day, the role covers the full payroll and transactional finance function, from timesheets through to reconciliations and reporting.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing end-to-end payroll processing, including resolving payroll queries and maintaining employee details
  • Overseeing timesheet management, reviewing and actioning complex timesheet data drawn from multiple sources
  • Running accounts payable, including subcontractor invoices (RCTIs), supplier bills, staff reimbursements and payment runs
  • Managing accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, ad hoc billing and following up outstanding accounts
  • Handling onboarding, offboarding and ongoing maintenance of employee records
  • Completing banking and reconciliation tasks, and support month-end, quarter-end and annual reporting
  • Overseeing an offshore timesheet data analyst, and identify opportunities to improve payroll, timesheet and finance processes
