Job summary

Auto & General Australia is seeking an early‑career intelligence‑led fraud investigator to support triage, administration and processing of counter fraud activities across our insurance portfolio. You will apply industry knowledge, use OSINT techniques, and prepare clear briefs for peers and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Strong computer literacy and administration skills to navigate investigative tools and systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with confidence across formats.
  • Proven time management skills with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a complex, demanding environment.
  • Inquisitive mindset with genuine interest in fraud, intelligence or financial crime.
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry, preferably within a claims environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Support triage, administration and processing of counter fraud activities across our insurance portfolio.
  • Apply knowledge of insurance or financial crime to assist fraud identification and case management.
  • Utilise the intelligence cycle to strengthen counter fraud positions in a hands-on context.
  • Assess complex scenarios with strong critical thinking to build a coherent events picture.
  • Prepare accurate briefs and findings for peers and external stakeholders.
  • Leverage OSINT techniques to enhance counter fraud outcomes
  • Manage a portfolio of cases with focus on timely turnaround and high customer service standards
  • Engage professionally with sensitive content, maintaining discretion at all times
  • Stay across emerging fraud trends and relevant frameworks including GICOP, Insurance Contracts Act and the Privacy Act
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
