We Love AI Jobs in Adelaide is seeking a Payroll & Finance Specialist to own end-to-end payroll and contribute to broader finance tasks. The role combines payroll ownership with general accounting support in a hybrid, full-time setting.

You will independently manage payroll, maintain records, handle new hires and changes, and resolve payroll queries while ensuring compliance. The position also covers accounts payable/receivable and month-end processes.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll & Finance Specialist to join the team in Adelaide. This is a varied position combining end-to-end payroll ownership with broader finance responsibilities.

Payroll will be a key focus of the role, with the successful candidate taking ownership of the payroll function as a standalone payroll specialist. You will also provide support across general finance and accounting activities, making this an opportunity for someone who enjoys working across both payroll and finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process independently
• Take ownership of the payroll function and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records and information
• Process new starters, terminations, leave, salary changes and other payroll adjustments
• Manage payroll queries and resolve issues in a timely manner
• Ensure payroll processes comply with relevant legislation and requirements
• Maintain payroll documentation and records

Finance & Accounting

• Provide support across accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Complete bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations
• Assist with month-end processes and reporting
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Assist with finance reporting and administrative requirements
• Provide general support to the Finance team as required

About You

• Minimum 2 years' payroll experience
• Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll
• Confidence working independently and taking ownership of the payroll function
• Previous experience in finance, accounting or accounts administration
• Good understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• Experience using payroll and accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• A proactive, reliable and team-focused approach
