Job summary

Paxus is seeking a skilled Database Designer to sustain and optimise enterprise databases on AWS Aurora and PostgreSQL. You will collaborate with application, DevOps, and architecture teams in Agile environments to ensure security, performance, and resilience across national systems.

The role involves mentorship, ongoing improvement, and alignment with government platforms. NV1 security clearance is required, with work across Melbourne CBD, Brisbane CBD, or Wollongong.

Qualifications

• Experience designing PostgreSQL schemas, indexes, and artefacts.
• Proficient in developing and optimising queries, functions, and triggers.
• Knowledge of AWS RDS Aurora and PostgreSQL in cloud environments.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate database solutions.
• Experience establishing backup, recovery, and disaster management protocols.
• Familiarity with automated deployment pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
