Job summary

Mackay Base Hospital’s Theatre Department is seeking applications for an Enrolled Nurse to join their team on a permanent basis, to provide direct and indirect evidence-based patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse within the Operating Theatre and Central Sterilising Department.

The Operating Theatres are a 24-hour, seven-day facility with seven theatres serving Orthopaedic, General Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and ENT.

Qualifications

• Enrolled Nurse qualification and registration as required.
• Experience in operating theatres or sterile services is an asset.
• Ability to work under supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect evidence-based patient care in the operating theatre and central sterilising department.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to maintain patient safety and care standards.
• Assist during perioperative procedures and ensure equipment readiness.

The Operating Theatres at Mackay Base Hospital is a 24-hour, seven day a week facility, comprising of seven state of the art operating theatres which cater for surgical specialities including: Orthopaedic, General Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Ear Nose & Throat.
