Job summary

NSW Health’s Ryde Hospital invites applications for an Enrolled Nurse to join Ward 6 (Surgical/Orthopaedics) on a permanent full-time basis. You’ll contribute to safe, patient-centered care within a supportive team and participate in a specialty learning pathway.

Permanent part-time may be considered. The role requires current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse and the ability to work both independently and in a team, with strong communication skills to engage patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients in Ward 6 (Surgical/Orthopaedics).

• Assist with administration of medications as delegated and ensure patient safety.

There is an exciting opportunity for a caring and passionate enrolled nurse to join Ryde Hospital on a permanent full time basis. You will be working in Ward 6 which is a mixed Surgical and Orthopaedics ward that has 19 beds. You will be working with a supportive team and have the opportunity to participate in a dedicated learning pathway specific to the specialty.

Ryde Hospital is havingan incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.

The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.

Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.

What you'll be doing

The purpose of this role is to provide safe and effective nursing care to patients using an individualised holistic approach related to the goals of care determined by the Primary Nurse (Registered Nurse) and within professional role limits and Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice. In the delivery of nursing care the Enrolled Nurse will work under both the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.

The Enrolled Nurse will consult with the registered nurse to ensure delegation is commensurate with own level of competence and within Local Health District (LHD) and Service policy, particularly in relation to the administration of medications.
