At the Transition to Residential Aged Care Unit, you will do more than provide nursing care. You will support older people and their families through an important transition in their lives, helping each person feel safe, respected and supported throughout their care journey.

Our 20-bed unit provides acute nursing care alongside compassionate, person-centred support for patients transitioning into residential aged care.

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will provide high-quality geriatric, palliative and supportive care while developing meaningful relationships with patients, families and carers. You will play an important role in ensuring care is delivered with dignity, compassion and respect.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team committed to delivering high-quality care tailored to each patient’s individual needs.

In This Role, You Will
  • Provide safe, effective and person-centred nursing care to patients and their families.
  • Support patients, families and carers to understand their care needs and participate in informed decision‑making.
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in patients' conditions and clinical needs.
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful and supportive team environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for patients.
  • Contribute to the education, supervision and support of students and colleagues, where appropriate.
  • Promote dignity, independence and quality of life for older people throughout their care journey.
About You

You’re an Enrolled Nurse who sees the person behind the patient — someone who brings compassion, patience and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Role

You’ll thrive in a role where every day is an opportunity to support someone through an important stage of their life. You’ll bring:

  • Current Authority to Practice as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Genuine interest in older people and geriatric nursing.
  • Caring approach to aged care, dementia and medical nursing.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with patients, families and carers.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing patient needs while delivering safe, person‑centred care.
  • Enthusiasm to learn, grow and develop in a supportive team.

Grow Your Career in the Transition to Residential Aged Care Unit

You do not need extensive aged care experience to make a meaningful contribution in this role. Junior Enrolled Nurses are encouraged to apply, with education and clinical support available five days a week to help you build confidence and develop your skills.

You will work alongside an experienced and supportive team while developing your knowledge and experience across geriatric nursing, dementia care, palliative care and the transition to residential aged care.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your nursing career while making a genuine difference to older people, their families and carers during an important stage of their lives.
