Job summary

Nido Early School Long Gully in Victoria is inviting applications for an Assistant Service Manager. This newly created leadership role will help shape the service, support high-quality outcomes for children, families and educators, and influence positive change across our growing network.

You will lead educational programmes, support educators, and ensure safe, engaging environments aligned with Nido's philosophy.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or ACECQA equivalent.
• At least two years' Lead Educator or leadership experience in ECE.
• Strong knowledge of EYLF, NQS and National Quality Framework.
• Ability to lead and develop teams.
• Current WWCC and First Aid Certificate; National Child Safety Training as required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the service’s Educational Leader, leading educational programmes and high-quality practice.
• Support and develop educators to deliver exceptional outcomes for children.
• Ensure learning environments are safe, engaging and aligned with Nido philosophy.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and performance processes.
• Maintain staff and child records and support compliance.
• Support WHS processes, safety checks, drills and risk management.
• Provide operational leadership when Executive Service Manager is absent.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, educators and the community.
• Lead by example with consistency, respect, collaboration and initiative.

Your role as Assistant Service Manager

• Act as the service’s nominated Educational Leader, leading implementation of educational programmes and supporting high-quality practice across the service.
• Support and develop educators to deliver exceptional outcomes for children.
• Help ensure learning environments are safe, engaging and aligned with Nido's philosophy.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and performance processes.
• Maintain accurate staff and child records and support ongoing compliance.
• Support WHS processes, safety checks, drills and risk management.
• Provide operational leadership when the Executive Service Manager is absent.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, educators and the wider community.
• Lead by example through consistency, respect, intentionality, collaboration and speaking up.

What you’ll bring

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA equivalent).
• At least two years' experience as a Lead Educator or relevant leadership experience in ECE.
• Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and National Quality Framework.
• Confidence supporting and developing teams.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting compliance and operational processes.
• Current WWCC and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• National Child Safety Training is required.
