Job summary

St Joseph's Catholic College, East Gosford is seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher with the capacity to teach some HSIE classes on a permanent, full-time basis.

St Joseph's Catholic College, East Gosford is currently seeking a passionate & enthusiastic English Teacher with capacity to teach some HSIE classes to join the team. The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and enjoy working in a dynamic and cohesive team.
This is a Permanent, full time (1.0 FTE) role to commence Term 1, 2027 7.

Specific Criteria

• Experience teaching Stage 4 and Stage 5 English, ability to teach Stage 6 English.
• Ability to work collaboratively, willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities.
• Highly effective, skilled classroom practitioner committed to the ethos of the Catholic School
• Capacity to contribute to the school’s Continuous Improvement Cycle and is committed to student achievement
• Proven ability to apply sound pedagogical practices to create a motivating and engaging learning environment that caters to the needs of all learners
• Skilled in analysing and reflecting on student learning data to ensure learning growth for all students;
• Highly effective in managing and facilitating safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive student welfare practices
• Willingness to contribute to the broader extracurricular aspects of school life as an active member of the school community

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic professional learning community.

Desirable: HSC marking experience an advantage, experience teaching Stage 6 English Extension 1 and/or English Extension 2 an advantage

Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4-year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four-year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.
