Job summary

CQUniversity is seeking a VET Teacher - Fitting and Machining to move from industry into teaching. The role focuses on delivering practical training to apprentices in workshops, using real-world expertise to guide learners toward qualification completion.

No prior teaching experience is required; a fully funded TAE40122 qualification will be provided. The position includes 36.25 hours per week, with teaching and assessment duties and flexible scheduling where possible.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical trade work (fitting, machining, maintenance).
• Interest in mentoring apprentices and guiding learners in workshop/classroom settings.
• No teaching experience required; ability to work in a structured setting with assessment and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead teaching and hands-on training in workshop and classroom settings.
• Prepare lessons, assess students, and provide student support.
• Collaborate with staff to deliver the Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.
