Job summary

CQUniversity is seeking an experienced fitter or machinist to transition into a VET teaching role in Gladstone. You will bring hands-on mechanical trade expertise into the classroom and workshop, delivering practical training through the Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade program while mentoring apprentices.

No prior teaching experience is required as the position offers a fully funded TAE40122 qualification and extensive support to help you succeed in an educational setting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on industry experience in mechanical trade work (fitting, machining, equipment maintenance).
• Interest in mentoring apprentices and guiding learners in workshop and classroom settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on training for Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
• Teach and mentor apprentices in workshop and classroom settings.
• Prepare, assess and provide student support within a structured program.
• Contribute to program development and documentation as part of teaching duties.
