Job summary

Mexx Engineering Pty Ltd on the Gold Coast is seeking an Engineering Technician to manage multiple projects from design to customer support. You will assemble, test, commission and install machines, while ensuring safety and regulatory alignment.

The role requires an AQF mechanical engineering qualification and at least one year in a related field; automation experience is preferred. Salary ranges from AUD 55,000 to AUD 65,000 plus super, with company training and performance incentives.

Qualifications

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 1 year experience in machine design or a relevant engineering role; automation experience preferred.
• Familiarity with safety requirements of machine design and knowledge of PLCs, sensors and servo systems.

Purpose of the position:

• Project management of multiple projects at different stages


• Machine assembly, testing, commissioning and installation


• Post project customer support

Qualifications:

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in mechanical engineering (or equivalent international qualification).

Experience:

• Minimum of 1-year experience in machine design or relevant engineering role. Experience in automation or manufacturing industry preferred but not essential.


• Familiarity with safety requirements of machine design


• Sound knowledge of PLC’s, sensors, pneumatics, servo motors, conveyors and robotic based automation systems


• Knowledge, or the ability to quickly gain knowledge in robotic based automation systems


• Be familiar with manufacturing practice and experience in automation and robotic design concepts

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

• Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams


• Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant


• Ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions


• Demonstrated ability and experience in machine assembly, testing, commissioning and installation


• Ability to assist with prototyping, testing and design validation


• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment


• Ability to provide exceptional post project customer support
