Job summary

Vanguard Mining is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering and design function across mining and mineral processing projects. You will own the quality, accuracy and timeliness of every deliverable, from calculations and 3D models to drawings and design documentation.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team and partner with Project Managers, Sales, fabrication partners and site teams to ensure designs are buildable, compliant and delivered on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/structural engineering is required; CPEng preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in heavy industry/mining is expected.
• Proven capability delivering across concurrent projects; strong resourcing and budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of Australian standards for steel, concrete and mechanical design (AS 4100/AS 3600).
• Proficiency with Inventor, AutoCAD and structural analysis tools (SpaceGass).

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the Engineering and Design team with clear priorities.
• Plan and allocate resources across concurrent projects to balance workload.
• Ensure on-time, high-quality deliverables including models, drawings and docs.
• Maintain engineering standards, templates and review protocols across disciplines.
• Oversee design checking, peer review and sign-off per ISO 9001 and client specs.
• Collaborate with PMs, Sales, and fabrication partners to scope effort and schedules.
