Job summary

Transmin Pty Ltd is seeking an Engineering & Design Manager to lead the engineering function and drive the next generation of product innovation for mining and bulk materials handling equipment. You will oversee design, standards, R&D initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable, and manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in engineering and design in mining or materials handling.
• Proven success leading engineering teams and managing engineering functions.
• Strong experience in product development, continuous improvement, and innovation.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical design, materials handling equipment, manufacturing processes, and industry regulations.
• Experience with engineering design software, ideally Inventor and Vault.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and technical professionals.
• Driving product innovation, research and development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establishing and maintaining engineering standards, systems, and best practices across the business.
• Ensuring designs are practical, manufacturable, serviceable, and compliant with industry standards.
• Championing product standardisation and optimisation through advanced 3D modelling and Product Lifecycle Management systems.
• Supporting manufacturing, aftermarket, and service teams with technical expertise and product enhancements.
• Overseeing testing, validation, and quality assurance processes to ensure exceptional product performance.
• Maintaining awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends to keep Transmin at the forefront of innovation.
