Mable’s Leap in! engineering group is seeking an Engineering Manager who can lead multiple squads, set technical direction, and manage people. The role reports to the CTO and focuses on architecture, delivery, and stakeholder management across the engineering teams.

You will mentor engineers, champion modern engineering practices, and collaborate with practice leads to raise standards while supporting a hybrid work setup. This is a pivotal leadership role in Australia’s healthtech space.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in general engineering.
• Experience delivering large initiatives across multiple teams.
• Bachelor degree in computer science or demonstrated self-learning.
• Previous team lead experience.
• Good understanding of modern CD/DevOps practices and monitoring tools like Datadog.
• Excellent communication and a team-oriented mindset.
• Leave it better than you found it in your code.

Responsabilités

• Work with the senior engineering leadership to build a quality engineering organisation.
• Assist squad leaders with backlog, architecture and stakeholder management.
• Collaborate to improve core engineering practices across backend, frontend, infrastructure and QA.
• Monitor squad delivery cadence and help improve efficiency.
• Promote sound, modern engineering practices and tools within squads.
• Teach and mentor squads on technology choices and software design practices.
• Mentor and grow engineers under your care.
• Collaborate on DevOps practices in the teams.
• Manage direct reports – Engineering Team Leads in each squad.
