Job summary

Everlab in Sydney is hiring an Engineering Manager for the Platform team. You will lead a squad of five engineers, own infrastructure and reliability, and shape developer experience across the platform as we scale.

This is a hybrid, full-time role with 3 days in the Sydney office. You’ll balance velocity with reliability, embed AI tooling, and partner with product and security to advance healthcare infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Management experience leading a platform/infrastructure/devexp team.
• Strong cloud infra experience with AWS/GCP, IaC, CI/CD, reliability & observability.
• Customer-obsessed for internal developers and users.
• Sound judgement balancing velocity and reliability; capable of growth.
• Experience in healthcare or regulated environments, privacy & patient safety.
• Startup/Scaleup experience with pace & ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the squad: own delivery, health, and people; manage performance and hiring.
• Own infrastructure and reliability: scale cost, observability, and on-call as the platform grows.
• Own developer experience and tooling: reduce friction for engineers to build, test and ship.
• Treat internal engineers as customers: measure friction and balance reliability vs velocity.
• Set squad direction with the Tech Lead: align goals with engineering needs.
• Embed AI in team workflows: integrate effective AI tooling into daily practice.
