Job summary

NTP Talent seeks a commercially minded engineering leader to step into the role of 2IC to the General Manager. You will own the HV products division, combining strategic leadership with hands-on governance, commercial growth, and international supply chain oversight.

You will lead a cross-functional team across engineering, sales and procurement, driving profitable growth and delivering superior outcomes to clients in Australia and international markets.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer or equivalent.
• Proven P&L management and sales leadership.
• Experience with international procurement and supplier audits.
• Leadership of multidisciplinary teams across engineering, sales and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Own P&L, set budgets and margins; ensure production and site operations run efficiently.
• Drive commercial growth by building client relationships, developing estimates, and securing major contracts.
• Oversee global supply chain; travel to audit factories and build long-term supplier relationships.
• Provide engineering governance, product compliance, and technical design oversight.
• Coach engineers and manage HR matters; lead the business in the GM's absence.

About the Role

Are you a commercially minded engineering leader who thrives on taking ownership, closing high-value deals, and making things happen?

This is an opportunity to step into a pivotal senior leadership position as 2IC to the General Manager.

You will take overall operational, technical, and financial ownership of the high-voltage products division. This dynamic role combines strategic executive influence with hands-on team leadership, engineering governance, commercial growth, and international supply chain management.

You will lead and develop a high-performing team across engineering, sales, and procurement, ensuring the business continues to grow while delivering high-quality outcomes to clients across Australia and international markets.

Your Challenge

We’re looking for someone who can drive it, sell it, and make it happen.

You will have direct P&L accountability for the division, setting budgets, managing margins, and ensuring production and site operations run efficiently. Commercially, you will drive growth by building strong client relationships, developing estimates, presenting technical solutions, and securing major contracts.

You will also take ownership of the global supply chain, including periodic international travel to audit factories, inspect manufacturing standards, assess risks, and build long-term supplier relationships.

Alongside the commercial and supply chain responsibilities, you will oversee engineering governance, product compliance, and technical design standards. You’ll be the backbone of the team - coaching engineers, managing people and HR matters, resolving operational challenges, and stepping up to lead the business in the General Manager’s absence.

The product division specialises in mission-critical high-voltage infrastructure, including HV switchgear, ring main units, transformers, control systems, and industrial generators.

What You Bring

You are a respected, degree-qualified Electrical Engineer (or equivalent) and experienced leader with deep technical expertise across high-voltage power systems, protection schemes, and Australian and international compliance standards.

You bring a proven track record of P&L management, commercial growth, sales leadership, and multidisciplinary team management, with the ability to take projects from opportunity through to delivery.

Experience with international procurement - including sourcing, supplier management, factory audits, and the importation of technical equipment is highly regarded.

Most importantly, you’re commercially driven, technically credible, and comfortable taking ownership. You know how to lead from the front, win the work, and make sure it gets delivered.
